The Super Cool Korean Movies and the Northeast Indians

I have a confession to make. I am addicted to Korean movies. So are thousands in Mizoram, Manipur. Well basically the whole of Northeast India. I have heard it is more so in countries like Myanmar (Burma), Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Taiwan, Philippines, etc.123moviesfree

It has been some time now since I watched my first Korean movie – it was My Sassy Girl. (Incidentally, My Sassy Girl was the most popular and exportable Korean film in the history Korean film industry according to Wikipedia. So popular that it outsold The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter which ran at the same time. It sold 4,852,845 tickets!) That was around two years ago. By now I have watched scores of them – Windstruck, Sex is Zero (Korean version of American Pie?), My Wife is a Gangster 1, 2 & 3, The Classic, Daisy, A Moment to Remember, Joint Security Area, My Little Bride, A Dirty Carnival, You are my Sunshine, Silmido, etc to name but a few!

I am completely totally hooked!

When a friend first invited me to watch My Sassy Girl I was frankly not sure if I would enjoy it. But the spunky, don’t-care-a-damn-tomboy heroine in that movie made me fall in love with Korean movies (and soaps even!). It is not particularly surprising to me that I fell in love with Korean movies considering the fact that I love French movies. Korean movies have the same treatment of their subjects like that of French movies. I regularly watch TV5 French movies and Arirang TV whenever my cableguy allows me! Of course different genre of movies give you a different perspective on Korean movies. I think comedy is where Korean movies are the best.

Now the Korean movies and soaps, as I have said, are very popular in the Northeastern states of India. Even in New Delhi there is a video library or two where you can get Korean movies. You can be sure I am a regular! In a more serious note, the question is why… why do the northeasterners love Korean movies?? Even after decades of Hindustanization with Bollywood, Hindi lessons and Indian politics are we somewhat longing for HOME!

It is really good to see one of your own (read chinkies?) on the screen after so many decades of it being filled by the Amitabhs and the Khans and the Roshans of Bollywood. Korean dramas are like a breath of fresh air after so much stale Bollywood movies which I seldom watch except for Ram Gopal Verma movies. The intricate plots of twists and turns and much more urbane emotions are what attracted me to Korean and French movies. Maybe, just may be, race does have a role here. Being racially similar, our habits and cultural nuances are so similar! Their body language and facial expressions are so similar to our expressions. The rather alien Punjabi or Bihari nuances of Bollywood deters me from so many good movies!

Netflix – The Pros and Cons of the Online Movie Rental Service

Do you have any idea what are parents had to go through back in the day just to rent a movie? They had to trudge five miles through eight feet of snow to the local video store in frigid, below-zero weather. And when they finally arrived there, they only had a selection of twenty or so movies to choose from, none of which were new releases. After they rented a video, they had to hurry home and quickly watch it because if it wasn’t back by 5:00 the next day, they had to pay a late fee that was twice as much as the original rental. And you know what, they liked it and they appreciated the opportunity to be entertained.free movie websites

Fortunately, times have changed and it has become a lot easier for people to enjoy the cinematic arts in the comfort of their own living rooms. In particular, the video-rental giant Netflix, now a household name across America, has revolutionized the nature in which a person is able to rent a movie; providing an online service offering unlimited rentals for one flat monthly rate and no late fees. With delivery and returns provided by the US Postal Service via pre-stamped envelopes, Netflix has become an economical, no-brainer for voracious movie watchers across the nation.

Now, as a huge film buff myself, Netflix is just about the greatest thing to happen to me since cheese in a can. But when I converse with certain friends and family who are also big movie lovers and I tell them why they should join Netflix, they seem hesitant and ask a lot of questions. Many seem like the offer seems to good to be true, while others don’t see a problem with the traditional method of visiting a video store to rent a movie. Whatever the reason, I have personally found myself having the conversation of why or why not join Netflix enough times to recite from memory and write an article.

So here we are, and as much as I love Netflix, I am also fair in my debate and admit that there are some downsides to the online service that people teetering on the edge of signing up should be aware about. So, without further ado, here are my three big pros and cons of using Netflix.

Pro: Price – The cost of Netflix is without a doubt the cheapest way of going about renting movies, especially if you watch more then three movies a week. My first month as a member, I did the math just to reassure myself that giving Netflix my credit card number was a smart decision. I divided the number of movies I watched that first month by the flat rate of $16.99 (three movies at a time) and it came out to 87 cents per movie, which if you’ll note, is also cheaper then the $1 price of the popular and competing Redbox. Now if I watched that same amount of movies by renting them from a video store at the average price of $4 a rental, it would have cost me around $80. I’m sorry but that my friends is a steal and by far the biggest pro of Netflix.

Pro: Selection – It has happened to me a lot in the past and I’m sure it has happened to you at one point or another. You catch wind of a low-budget independent festival winner or a critically acclaimed foreign thriller that you absolutely must see. So you go to your local video store to rent it only to have the 16-year-old clerk behind the counter tell you they have never heard of it. Now in the past, your only solution to this problem would be buying a DVD copy online. But, if you were a member of Netflix, you’re almost guaranteed to be able to rent that movie. With a movie library that offers over 100,000 different titles, Netflix has by far the biggest variety of films to choose from. I have been a member for almost two years now and there have been three occasions where they did not offer the movie I was looking for. And in all three of those cases, the movie was issued as “out of print” by the film company that owned the rights, which by law means Netflix cannot offer it for rent.

Pro: Convenience – “No Late Fees,” Netflix knows that this statement is by far their biggest selling point and that is obviously why it is splattered all over their advertisements and commercials. But that is not meant to take away from how nice this perk really is to the customer. I probably could afford graduate school with the money I have spent in late fees in my lifetime. And as everyone knows, a video store never forgets a late fee. It will stay in their computer for years, haunting you until you pay up. But the convenience of Netflix does not stop with the absence of late fees. Commuting to and from the video store is also eliminated. And their website, where all of your rental selections are made, is so incredibly user-friendly that I seriously know a 5-year-old who navigates it with ease.

Con: New Releases – I started off with the biggest pro of Netflix and here is by far the biggest con. To receive a new release when it first comes out is incredibly difficult. So that means, those movies that you meant to go see in the theaters but kept putting off until you finally missed your opportunity and now you can’t wait to see on DVD, Netflix will

Your Movie Library Needs Help

Your movie library isn’t what it used to be. Even though you might think movie night is exciting, your friends are starting to tire from the same old movies again and again. Just because you like to watch the same movies more than once doesn’t necessarily mean your friends and family do. You need to start getting smarter about your movies, without having to take up a lot of time or money. Here are some signs that your movie library needs help – and what you can do about it.123moviesfree

You Watch the Same Movie Every Night

While it might not seem possible, there are many people who truly watch the same movie again and again. If this sounds like the case in your movie library, you need to rethink this habit. Though this movie might be good, eventually you will tire of it and then you’ll be left without anything to watch. Instead, it’s a good idea to switch things up by ordering movies online or through a local video store to see what you like and whether you can fit this into your budget.

IDEA: Have a movie swap night. Encourage all of your friends to bring over their favorite movies and you can swap movies to see what others might like from your collection, while also expanding your horizons.

You Can’t Find New Movies

You end up choosing the same movie again and again because you can’t find the movies you do have. When this is the case with your movie library, you need to think about software that can help you get organized and stay organized. That way, you can reach for what you want and not just for what you can find.

IDEA: Invest in movie library software that helps you see what you own and where it is. This only takes a few moments to set up and it can help you learn more about your movie collection.

You Don’t Know What to Buy

Sometimes, you stick with the same movies in your movie library because you just don’t know what to buy. If your collection was organized, you would see that you have some movies that are missing their sequels or related movies. Again, getting organized is the best way to combat the problem of not knowing what to buy. You can then keep a list of what you want to purchase or what you want to receive as gifts from others.

IDEA: Find out what you own and then start looking to see what’s missing from your collection. You might find that you are missing a certain movie that’s been done by your favorite actor or actress.

Your movie library doesn’t have to be a burden. Instead, you need to look for ways

How to Write a Movie Review?

In website content writing, writing movie reviews can be fun. We all love to watch movies and sometimes we want to know what other’s opinions are about a particular movie before deciding whether to watch the movie or not. Therefore article writing about a film you watched will help others to make a decision. Let’s discuss some tips to write a good movie review.movies1234

All of us have diverse opinions about a film. Article writing a review gives you a way to express your opinion and also helps others to know about the same.

Before you start content writing about a movie, you need to watch it. You can either watch these movies online or rent a DVD or visit your nearest multiplex. There are many websites that allow streaming of movies online.

Once your movie is chosen, getting acquainted with the theme of the movie is very important. Go online and gather some information about the actors in the movie. Check out their previous and upcoming works, whether they have any awards to their name, do they expertise in a particular style of acting, etc. also in content writing, it is important to read about the movie that you have chosen. Read what the movie is all about, whether it is sequel or a remake, the rest of the cast and crew, etc. This information will help you to compare the performance of the cast and crew in the movie of your choice to their earlier work. This is important as it will provide more solidity to the article writing for your review.

You will automatically form an opinion about the movie once you have seen it completely. Try and frame one single sentence that will highlight your opinion about the movie. This sentence will help you give an overall rating to the movie and at the same time your readers will have an instant idea about your opinion. In content writing, such sentences form a solid platform for your review.

While content writing for a review one important aspect is to grab the attention of your reader instantly. This is applicable to any form of website content writing. Your readers must draw interest from what you have to say about anything. Regarding article writing for movie reviews, start your article with a quote from the movie itself. Then gradually explain to you reader how the quote is applicable to the rest of the movie.

Next step is to discuss about the movie in brief. While content writing a review, always give a vague outline about the movie and do not disclose the entire story. You will want to give a general idea to the readers about the movie and not write to make them refrain from watching the movie. If they need to know the entire story, they will have to watch it. Always keep this in mind while article writing for a movie.

You must back your opinion about the film with proofs. Explain exactly why according to you, the movie was a drag or a hit. Mention noteworthy scenes and at the same time those that you thought were unnecessary. While article writing about the movie, you must mention about the script of the movie giving your opinion whether it was a good or bad script.

You must make your review enjoyable. It does not matter whether you enjoyed the movie or not, your article writing for the movie must be engrossing. From the beginning to the end your review should be interesting and at the same time brief.

Lastly, be honest with your content writing. Your motive to write a review must be to let others know about your opinion and not to stop anyone from watching the movie.

Where Can I Purchase Movie Posters? – Memorabilia Stores For Movie Fans

When people ask themselves the question “Where can I purchase movie posters”, they usually come up with the same answers. Normally solarmovies    they are thinking something like: “movie poster retailers,” or “poster shops” or maybe “eBay.” These answers are okay as far as they go,but people don’t realize there are better sources where you can get movie posters.

A memorabilia shop is one such source. Unfortunately, people often think these shops only sell nick-nacks and novelty items such as t-shirts, dolls and figurines, that are connected with movies. Also, people sometimes think that these shops sell only franchised items from the movies. Well, they are only partly right.

In a movie memorabilia store, you can get most everything that you want that serves as a memoir of your favorite movie. If there is a particular movie that you love and can’t get enough of, this is the best store for you.

In this kind of shop you can not only buy all the things that contain images and such from your favorite movies, you can also get memorabilia from any movie, too. Face it. Movies are probably one of the best forms of entertainment in the world. They allow you to forget the present and step into another world, time and even space. Movies provide a temporary solace from daily life.

Movie memorabilia owners know and understand all of this. For these reasons, they opened a business that gives people a chance to prolong their experiences and feelings with a particular movie.

This is the main reason why, when you ask yourself, “Where can I purchase movie posters”, you should think of a movie memorabilia store. These people understand you. They have what you need- and not just posters, mind you.

In these stores, you can get posters of the older movies…even rare posters such as vintage horror movie posters, as well as posters of the latest movies showing. In any given movie memorabilia store, you name it, you can safely bet that they have it. They make sure of that.

There is quite a number of these shops out there. Again, you have to be careful in picking them out. You have to always be careful as to where you spend your movie poster money. Always remember that when you are a collector, you are more prone to scams and fraud than anybody else in the world of business.

With this in mind, go to a popular movie memorabilia store. If you are new to a certain area, pick the one that has the most number of people going in and making purchases. Through this tactic, you can be assured with the thought that since a lot of people are spending their money there; the place has got to be selling genuine articles and not rip-offs. Everybody hates rip-offs and imitations, just like you.

So the next time that somebody, or you yourself ask the question, “Where can I purchase movie posters”, you now have one more place to answer. What’s more is that in this place, you can buy other things, too, and not just movie posters.

Movie Ticket Prices: One Size Fits All? It’s Time to Experiment

The current movie exhibition model is under incredible stress. Although increasing ticket prices have often masked steadily yes movies  declining movie attendance figures, there has been precious little experimentation to fundamentally address the issue of getting people back into the theater. As Doctor Phil would say, “how’s that current model working for ya?” The time has come to experiment and tinker to see what can be done to improve the initial window of movies, the window that drives all downstream revenues that finance the business. C’mon, guys, let’s try some new things.

Several recent articles have suggested ways theater operators can increase movie attendance in North America. Putting aside this year, which has been down a disastrous 22% from last year, movie exhibitors have generally kept revenues up slightly from prior years by increasing ticket prices. But attendance, the number of tickets sold, has been declining for years. Aside from relying on Hollywood studios to make better, more broadly entertaining films, are there other techniques to lure people back to theaters more often?

Economists have noted that theater chains have priced their inventory (seats in theaters) in the same simplistic way for decades. Basically there is one price for adults, children, students and seniors, and often a discount for matinee showings. But airlines (also in the business of filling seats) and the hotel industry (filling hotel rooms) have used complex algorithms to minimize the number of empty seats or rooms and maximize revenues from paying customers. In addition, these industries have harnessed the power of the Internet to create an auction marketplace to induce customers to make a purchase. The Internet also allows the creation of massive and valuable databases, which can be mined to analyze consumer behavior and fine tune optimal pricing and timing strategies.

An article by Steven Zeitchik on LAtimes.com examines how variable pricing might be implemented by the movie industry. It concentrates on pricing movies differently according to performance. Poorly performing or less anticipated films could see lower admission prices to lure customers in (although a dog of a movie would probably play to an empty theater even if the ticket price were near zero). Highly anticipated or blockbuster movies might command higher prices (fans of Harry Potter or Batman or Twilight might pay more for the chance to see the movie first).

But this only scratches the surface. There are a number of different ways to implement variable pricing. A few ideas for pricing variables

* Day of week. Rather than having the same price structure across the week, price the highly attended Friday-Sunday period slightly higher and price the poorly attended Monday-Thursday period slightly lower. In this scenario, weekend admissions might rise to $9.50 (from the average $8 ticket price) and weekday admissions might decline to $6.50. See if this $3 spread induces more admissions during the weekday dead period, and see if admissions during the weekend stay relatively constant (when the audience is used to seeing films, when they are more available, and when there is a premium on seeing the film first). Or theater owners might find this a cannibalistic practice (the same number of movie goers simply shifts their “movie nights” despite increased competition from television and weekly activities). The point is, test it and see what happens.

* Time of year. A similar strategy to above. Movie attendance lags from January to April and August to October, while concentrating in the May through July and November to December periods. Price the “popular” periods higher and the less popular times of the year lower.

* Movie life cycle. Price movies in their first or second week higher than movies in their third week. Put a premium on seeing a film before anyone else, a premium that might be tolerable to frequent movie goers who are the opinion leaders and the generators of word of mouth. As a movie starts to wane, the lower price might jolt some life back into attendance, particularly if the movie has any buzz.

* Seating area. Price the very front of the theater slightly lower than seats with better views of the entire screen.

* Movie performance. As noted above in the article, lower the price on less popular movies and increase the price on the stronger titles.

* Some combination of all of the above. All of the above variables can be mixed and matched. No single variable will yield the optimal solution, which is most likely a smart (albeit complex) combination of different strategies. Again, the idea is a pick a few markets and experiment.

Would the audience balk at higher prices on anything? Would they feel gouged? Well, do they feel gouged by inflated prices for popcorn, candy and soda? Concession lines are long (and extremely profitable), and movie goers for the most part accept those prices. And the Arc Light chain in Los Angeles has shown higher prices will be tolerated by serious film fans if a superior experience is delivered.

The Netfilx Model. A fascinating idea is posited in another article by Chris Dorr on TribecaFilm.com: build a relationship with customers by having them join a frequent movie program with utter simplicity, a monthly fee for unlimited movie attendance at a particular chain or set of theaters. The suggested price point ($10 per month) is ridiculously low (frequent movie goers, who drive the business, would continue to see many films a month and their revenue would plummet). But if the price point were something like $25 per month, it might induce occasional film goers to become frequent viewers and drive up concession revenue.

Realistically though, studios would balk at this plan. They see no profits from concessions and anything that might give the very frequent movie goer a “free ride” would probably cut into the revenue of high performing films. (Those are still made, right?). But the plan should not be taken so literally. The main benefit of the plan would be an establishment of a relationship, an online relationship, with the audience. To sign up, consumers would provide the usual zip code, email, and perhaps gender and age. This database would quickly become a marketing gold mine, filled with valuable data on consumer behavior. The pricing mechanisms discussed above could be tested, and high end marketing techniques could be implemented. With 75 million serious film goers (roughly one-quarter of the population), a chain could very easily scale up a database of many millions

Five Family Movies That Will Bring Your Family Closer

Going to the movies can take on many roles, some of which are a bit more important to others. While most people might think that a movie being a cultural phenomenon or a movie of a generation might be pretty important, 123movies free  nearly everyone will discount how important family movies can be in general. Depending on who you ask, this may be more of a commentary on how society is changing, but it might just be that family movies are made for only some members of the family.

Think about the last time you sat and watched a movie with your spouse and children. Was it animated? Were the parental figures just a bit too out of touch to seem real? Did the CGI overload make it hard to even look at the screen? As time has gone on, what makes for a family movie has really been more about making a movie that keeps a kids attention long enough to give Mom and Dad a breather. Whatever happened to the type of movie that made the family feel closer to each other? You know, the kind of movie that taught an important lesson, even if it was a little too close to reality. As much as it makes you seem like the old guy shaking his fist at everyone who steps on his lawn, they don’t make family movies like they used to.

Then again, maybe they do, but you might have to look a little closer or even go back a few years at the movies that made you and your family feel a bit tighter than before. There might be something to this because if you think about the movie marathons that come on during the holiday season, most of those movies are a few decades old. A classic is a classic, and even if they years have passed, something about those movies has stood the test of time.

If you’re looking for some family movie magic, here are five movies that will bring your family a little closer together:

Charlotte’s Web – Though animated and incredibly uplifting, the audience is fully aware of the harshness of life. It’s a classic.

A Christmas Story – An air rifle, a kid’s imagination, and terrifying pink, full-body bunny suit come together as one of the greatest Christmas movies of all-time.

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids – When Dad seems like he bungles everything up, it’s shocking to see one of his craziest inventions actually work! This movie is underestimated, but it has heart, a tremendously talented cast, and a great story to boot.

Little Women – A classic movie based on a classic novel. You really can’t go wrong, and even if the boys in your family scoff at it, if they sit long enough, they’ll be swept away.

Home Alone – Though billed as a holiday comedy, there is more to this movie than just hilarity & hijinks. Once again, a stellar cast make this one of the best movies of the last thirty years & one of the great holiday movies of all-time.

Movie Rentals Made Easy

For years, movie lovers have been able to rent their favorite films and enjoy them in the comfort of their own homes. A number of major rental stores along with countless independently owned mom and pop stores have helped to make renting and watching movies a favorite pastime for many. This is a cost-effective and simple solution for those who prefer not to spend the time or money it takes to go to movie theaters.

The outstanding thing about 123 movies123 movies is that a film can be watched over and over until the rental time is up. This is a preferred option for individuals who would rather spend one small price to watch a movie as many times as they want versus spending significantly more to watch it in the theater only once. Advances in technology have brought about several easy ways to rent movies.

One method of renting movies is to have them streamed to a television, cell phone, or computer device. This way of watching rental movies requires a wireless internet connection. Streaming movies to an electronic device means that individuals don’t have to deal with the hassle of keeping track of and returning movies on time. Movie-streaming services usually require users to pay a flat monthly fee in order to gain access to a library of films they can watch as often as they like. Several major movie-rental companies and countless other newer companies now offer this method to their customers. Many cell phone companies have jumped on the bandwagon and also offer movie-streaming services as well. This way of renting movies is attractive because it allows for streaming on portable devices that have wireless connections. Users can watch movies on their laptops and other portable devices wherever there is a wireless connection such as in coffee shops, bookstores or public libraries.

In recent years $1 movie-rental kiosks have made their way into grocery stores, outside convenience stores and in various other locations. The concept for most of these movie-dispensing machines is that you can rent a film at the cost of only $1 per day. In order to use this method, users enter their credit card information into the machine and select from a menu of films that are available from that particular kiosk. If the movie is returned after the first day individuals are only charged $1 per film. If it is returned later, then the credit card will be charged according to how many days it was out. Some prefer this straightforward method of renting because there is no contract required. Renting from a $1 movie kiosk is also attractive because of the low price of the rentals.

Cable and satellite television companies also provide an easy method for their customers to rent movies. Many premium television providers allow users to order films from their cable or satellite box remote controls. Movies are available for rental the same day they come out on video so users don’t have to feel that they have to wait longer than those who buy films from a store. Typically, customers who have movie-renting features also have the option to watch the film as many times as they want within a 24-hour period.

Having rental-movies delivered by mail is probably the oldest method of avoiding having to go to a rental store, and it is still an uncomplicated and convenient process. A lot of companies couple this feature with streaming programs. Often customers have access to a wider range of movies if they choose to sign up for a rental program that has both streaming and mail-order service. In order to encourage customers to use their mail-delivery service, some companies provide a limited amount of movies available through their streaming service while providing a much larger movie inventory through the direct-mail service. Many mail-order services allow customers to keep movies as long as they want within a 30-day period. Depending on the user’s account, customers can sometimes rent up to three movies at a time for one flat monthly rate.

Movie-rental, cable, and satellite television companies have made it simple to rent films. In recent years, many mobile phone service providers have also joined the movie-rental business. The variety of rental options available to consumers makes it easy for almost anyone to watch their favorite films on television and other electronic devices. Renting movies really is all about which method each person prefers.

Sports Betting: Do You Really Need It? This Will Help You Decide!

Hockey betting systems will do wonders for your betting positions and give you a much better chance of collecting cash from your wins, as opposed to losing money from using trial and error methods. When you use effective hockey betting systems, you can essentially eliminate a large 안전공원 amount of uncertainty that is normally associated with amateur betting (especially amongst avid sports fans and beginners who place bets purely for entertainment purposes).

To set yourself apart from the amateur bettors and on your way to professional betting, the best hockey betting systems will bring you there. Having said that, here are a few betting tips that you can implement into your hockey betting systems:

Betting Against The Public

Basically, the sportsbook will always go along with the public, agreeing upon the public’s betting trends and patterns. Next, the sportsbook will then reduce the odds and thus the value of public betting. Keep in mind that NHL hockey bets are much less compared to NFL football betting, meaning that public bets are usually wrong. Given all of this, using your hockey betting systems to bet against the public. In other words, bet on the underdog team and you will have a better chance of seeing winning results.

Betting Against The Road Trip

Another addition you can implement into your hockey betting systems include betting against a team playing on the road. You can wait for a specific team to have a 3-game trip on the road. Several professional NHL bettors have developed proven statistical analyses that justify the fact that many teams do not play as well as they could on the road compared to when they are playing a home game. So, when a certain team plays a game on the road, you should bet on the home team of pulling off a win. If you end up losing that bet, you can double up on your next bet to a maximum of about three bets. Doing this will show you that rarely you will find that it will ever find its way to the third bet – in other words, you’ll most very likely be collecting profits by then.

Betting On The First Round Of Playoffs

The NHL playoffs are an exciting time of year and can definitely bring in some great winning cash if you use your hockey betting systems properly. One strategy is to put a lower valued bet on the underdog teams during the first two games during the first round of the playoffs. This works because the sportsbooks normally place de-valued figures on the chance of an upset, which often happens on a consistent basis each and every year. It’s a good idea to exploit this opportunity and gain from it since this trend is not looking like it will chance any time soon, statistically speaking.
